Building Culture Beyond the Camera with FRVRGRAM

For Bonolo Meela, better known as FRVRGRAM, creativity has never been about choosing one path. Instead, it’s about embracing every opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the culture that inspires him.

Based in White City, Jabavu, Soweto, Bonolo has built his journey across digital storytelling, content creation, and live event production. Rather than limiting himself to a single title, he has developed a creative identity that moves fluidly between creating content, supporting production teams, and helping shape memorable experiences.

“FRVR is more than just a name, it’s a mindset,” he says. “It represents legacy, growth, consistency, and documenting the journey as it unfolds.”

What began as a passion for digital content eventually led Bonolo behind the scenes, where he discovered the work that happens long before audiences experience a concert or brand activation. Through Toorly’s Production Masterclass, he gained a deeper appreciation for the planning, collaboration, and logistics that bring creative ideas to life.

That experience has seen him contribute to major music productions, including Nasty C’s Ivyson Tour Africa, Kindlynxsh’s Young Soldier Season, the No Visa Tour, and BrotherKupa’s Worst Feelin Eva III listening session. Alongside his production work, Bonolo continues to grow as a creator, recently stepping into the brand space through the BYD ATTO 2 DM-i launch campaign.

Working across these different spaces has changed the way he views creativity. For Bonolo, culture isn’t created by one person—it is built collectively by everyone involved, whether they are on stage, behind the camera, or coordinating the production behind the scenes.

That perspective has shaped the advice he offers to other young creatives looking to find their place in the industry.

“Don’t become attached to titles; become attached to learning,” he says. “Some of the most valuable opportunities come from being willing to contribute wherever you’re needed.”

As South Africa’s creative industries continue to evolve, Bonolo represents a new generation that understands success isn’t defined by one role. By remaining curious, consistent, and open to every opportunity, he’s proving that meaningful careers are built through growth, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to the culture you’re helping create.
