Phemelo Koloti is making a significant impact in the world of acting and modeling. Born in Vryburg, North West, and raised in Johannesburg by her grandparents, Phemelo is the youngest of four siblings. She completed her primary and secondary education at Johannesburg Polytech Institute (JPI), matriculated in 2021. Currently, she is a second-year student at the University of Johannesburg, where she continues to pursue her dreams. Phemelo’s journey into modeling and acting began in the 4th grade, when she was encouraged by others to explore these fields. Although she was initially unable to participate in a school pageant, she waited until the 5th grade to give it a try. Despite not winning her first attempt, she remained determined and eventually won the title of first princess in an 8th-grade pageant. This victory fueled her passion and commitment to her craft. Her early experiences laid a solid foundation for her future endeavors in the entertainment industry.

Phemelo’s interest in acting was ignited during her time in high school, where she joined the drama club. The opportunity to audition and be accepted into the club was a turning point for her, providing a space to develop her acting skills and connect with others who shared her passion. Her involvement in the ReImagination program, which focused on Music, Art, Dance, Drama, and Design (MADDD Labs), further solidified her commitment to her craft. Held at Alhambra Theatre in Doorfontein, the program allowed Phemelo to deepen her understanding of the industry and enhance her skills. Despite facing challenges, such as rejection and criticism in the modeling industry, Phemelo remained resilient. The support from her friends and family helped her navigate these obstacles and maintain her focus. Her advice to aspiring models emphasizes the importance of resilience and authenticity. She encourages them not to let setbacks deter them from their dreams.
Looking ahead, Phemelo aspires to establish a modeling academy in Africa to empower young girls and hopes to work with renowned figures in the industry. She envisions creating work that not only entertains but also inspires and motivates others. Phemelo is dedicated to using her platform to amplify underrepresented voices and collaborate with artists from diverse backgrounds. Her goal is to leave a lasting legacy through her contributions to art and activism.
